I was on the phone with one of my friends that live in Charlotte the other day and she was talking about the dating scene. She is what Neo would call (Ms. Independent) which a lot of women are around here nowadays. Yet just like so many other Independent woman she is single and struggling to find her a good guy. Its not like there aren’t any guys out there but just like many other woman she has an old mind set. Convo:
Her: “I’m at this party and I see guys just chilling and hanging out with each other instead of approaching the ladies.”
Me: “If you saw something you like why didn’t you go approach him?”
Her: “I’m not approaching any guy, that’s the man’s job! No woman who got it going on will do that! Guys need to man up.”
Me: “Umm, there is a 16 to 1 ratio in Charlotte, they can look at 15 more females…”
Case in point there is a 16 to 1 ratio in Charlotte, and there are a lot of females that are doing their thing. This is Charlotte, second largest banking city in the U.S.! Look it’s time to get out of that mode of thinking “The man needs to approach me!” To be real we’re not the one’s struggling to find a partner; there is a flooded market of great woman here in Charlotte. It’s time for woman to stop with that thinking and “GET AGGRESSIVE.” Go and snatch you up a man, because these younger Independent women are getting hip to the game. They are aggressive and men like that in women especially these days.
Convo:
Me: “Look you need to get out there and grab you a man, it’s not looking pitiful, it’s a new age and a new day.”
Her: “Whatever, I shouldn’t have to lower my standards to get a man.”
Me: “You’re not lowering your standards, but you do need to change your tactics. Do you want to be one of those girls going to every party, but still coming out empty? You think you’re the only hot chick at the party? Lol, you don’t want to be one of those chicks 30 years old still going to parties looking for a man.”
Her: “Whatever, when the right man comes along then that’s what it is.”
It’s time ladies to forget that past stuff, and go and be aggressive, you don’t look like a loser but there is strong competition out on these streets, and it doesn’t help that some Charlotte men are looking at the other nationalities, I bet they were aggressive getting their man. Being independent and stuff just isn’t good anymore, it’s a plus, but competition is fierce!!! Good Luck!

I went there to meet peace of mind
paying no attention to the man holding upa cardboard sign
he only needed 50 cents but
I too, was needy
I went there to find help for my soul
though music has been a great expression
these times have proven different.
I needed more.
Across from me was youas if an invisible line connected us
or perhaps old lovers from another lifetime
I declined the offer to share smoke
but your fog left me blind.
it was then that I knew
I came there to find you.

….. It Awaits in the Darkness
The lights are low…..
You're with the person of your dreams….
The wine is flowing….
And you're waiting for the opportune moment….
"Sweetie, you know I like you right, and I really want to take our friendship further."
She gazes at you with a twinkle of candlelight in her eyes….
"Will you be my girl?"
The winds howls in the background overlapping the Marvin Gaye. She wipes her mouth with a napkin and drinks some more red wine.
"Awww, I like you to………. But I see you like a brother, and I don’t want to mess up our friendship."
"NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!"
THE FRIENDSHIP ZONE…
Once you're in there is no turning back. Rated TS { That Sucks}
I'm sure some of us have had to live that movie rather you're a female or male. My question is how do you recognize if you're in the friendship zone? Is there a way to get out, or are you stuck forever?

I need help.....
Ok, here's the situation, I'm 27 years old and I have a major crush on my co-worker. Well, I'm not going to even say a crush, I like her, a lot. But of course there's a major obstacle between me and the woman of my dreams( that was childish, I know). She has a boyfriend. Now usually I won't interfere with a happy couple, but like a shark in the water I sense a wounded fish(Ok, that was a super bad example, let's just say I sense a disturbance in the force). Lately I've been hearing nothing but bad things about her dude. Mind you, I haven't been prying into the relationship, this is information that she keeps giving me. And nope, I haven't been hating on the guy or saying anything bad. I do say nothing, I just listen. I'm not saying that the guy is a bad guy, but I do since that he is taking her for granted. What's that saying, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Surely he's forgotten he has a treasure chest of gold!
I mean we hangout together and have fun; which has been making me think, "How come I got so much access to her?" Where is her dude? It's not like I'm doing anything spectacular, I'm just doing small things that friends do. I notice small things like when she gets her nails done and I compliment her on it. Small things that he should be doing. Truthfully I don't know what's going on, and I don't know if she even has a slight idea that I like her. Hell, I might be knee deep in the friendship ZONE! I'm just letting things unfold without making things weird or uncomfortable. Again I refuse to hate on her guy because he might be a good guy that has just gotten complacent.
I'm interested to here what everyone thinks. I'm interested to know if anyone else has been in my situation. I don't want to ruin our friendship and I really don't want things to be weird at work, but I also don't want to miss out. I feel I deserve a great woman like her. WHAT THE HELL SHOULD I DO?

Whats your take on the relationship between the state and religion???
So, I was trying to be deep with a lady friend of mine and decided to pick her brain.....I asked her, whats your take on the relationship between the state and religion?
Her reply:
It's kind of strange. But since America has all kinds of people I don't think religion should be involved in policy making. However, our forefathers who wrote the Constitution and other important political documents did so taking religion in consideration. But this whole thing about political figures having to express that they believe in God and pray that God will help them make the right decisions is something that should not be public information. That is a personal choice and it kind of segregates other people who do not believe.
My reply:
Christianity is the foundation of this country and our forefathers did in fact use religion in the development of laws. Politicians have every right to publicly express that they believe in God and pray they make the right decisions. The reason I say this is simply because Politicians are making decisions that impact the entire country..ie the people....and I don`t know about you, but I feel good that a man/woman is making laws based on Christian morale rather than proposing laws based solely after his/her own heart. Christianity is based off of freedom of choice and that freedom is what sets the U.S apart from all other countries. Religion is expressed in every legal document, the Pledge of Allegiance, the dollar bill, and the list goes on..... Freedom is the reason so many foreigners die to come to the U. S, I don't feel religion/Christianity segregates those who don`t believe, but merely state our/U.S founding beliefs as a country. BUT when we allow foreigners to come into the U.S we should consider their religious views as well, but not when it comes to making laws. That's what they have their own country for. In past years it seems as if the U.S are trying to separate religion/Christianity from state by taking prayer out of schools, attempting to remove "In God we trust" from our currency, and changing the Pledge of Allegiance.... I don`t know how these changes will affect us down the road, but I did notice how school murders dramatically increased, just after prayer was taken out of school. The U.S began at the bottom of the barrel compared to other countries, but the U.S created a solid foundation by combining state and religion and it has stood the test of time.
Her Reply:
I feel you and that's what I was saying that our country was founded based on religion, but the whole reason why America was founded was because people wanted to get away from the religious prosecution under the King of England. America was founded for religious freedom and it just happened to be Christianity that many people believed in. Saying that, since America opens its doors to all people and there is no set religion in America we have to be sensitive to that fact. That's good that our political figures do believe in God, but making them state their religion is another thing. I just think it was gotten out of hand and there is a thin line between separating church and state. Right now that is the law of the land, so I think we should all respect that.

I'd Like to Make a Dedication....
I’d like to make a dedication to you people. Yes, you people. You know who you are. You people who treat the bathroom at work with no respect because you don’t have to clean it up. I don’t care what your bathroom at home looks like because I don’t have to use it. This is not a daycare; there is no excuse for there to be pee on the floor, the toilet, or anywhere else, or boogers on the wall. Yes, I have seen that before in a workplace bathroom! So this one goes out to you people that need to stop and think how you would feel if you had to clean that bathroom 3 times a day. And one more thing, for God’s sake wash your hands when you are finished. You are the kind of people that talk on your cell phone while sitting on the toilet. I’m pretty sure you are the same people that sit in a public bathroom and sound like you are giving birth. It can’t be that serious and nobody wants to hear it. If it hurts that bad, you should probably see a doctor or something. What is wrong with you people?
I’d like to make another dedication. This one goes out to you people that think because you watch SportsCenter and/or because you are older than me that you know everything about sports and are always right. Just because they are your team doesn’t mean they are the greatest. So, you people can be fans, that’s cool, just be a realistic and rational fan. If your team sucks, just be honest with yourself. If you people would just do your research/homework on the topic you would sound so much smarter, instead of just spilling out illogical and just plain ignorant assertions and opinions. Sports are pretty much what I do with my free time, if I’m not watching something about them I am reading about them. So there is nothing more annoying to me than that middle aged man, yall know the type!, that sits at the lunch table making all these ridiculous comments, failing to see the error in his ways. You look and sound like such an idiot to everyone but yourself and that one cosigning homeboy you brought with you. And if you are wrong or someone makes a good point, just acknowledge that for what it is, you don’t have to be right all the time. You people know who you are so get it together!

Complaining Ass People!
Stop me if you know somebody like this whether guy or girl.
You:" Yo dawg I know this house party tonight, they got free drinks and chicks."
That Guy: "Where is it? What kind of drinks? What the chicks look like? Who all gonna be there?"
You: "Damn never f$@cking mind!"
I can not stand people that just can't be satisfied with just having a good time. They got to know everything before they even see a damn movie! "Whose the director?" "Whose in it?" "What's the plot?" Seriously, if someone offers you some free gum, don't interrogate the person about the damn gum. Eat it and be thankful. Shut the "F" up! Far too many times have I missed out on things trying to get the fellas together and they have a million questions. Damn, if it's free then it's not going to hurt you to just check it out! If chicks gonna be there and it isn't your EX then who cares, there's got to be at least one winner out the bunch!
You: "Yo man I'm about to watch the game at Hooters and maybe drink one, you down?"
That Guy: "Who all going? They got any drink specials? Which one we going to?"
You: "Damn, never f$@cking mind!"
Why can't people just hangout and just be merry. Especially my fellas, whenever we do anything the first thing that comes out our mouths, "Any bitches gonna be there?"
How come women can have a ladies night out and have a great time? We can't have that without, "Any chicks gonna be there?" The only time Negros can hangout without thinking about women first is A: We playing b-ball. B: Playing the Xbox C: No more options.
Guys it isn't gay to politic or play a game of chess and talk about what going on in our lives. Trust me it isn't. Sometimes we need to get together and discuss what's happening around the world today. Maybe somebody has some insight on to what is going on that you need to hear. And for "That Guy" or "That Girl" who always complains or need to be pushed into doing anything…… word of knowledge… Nobody wants to invite you in the first place, it's just common courtesy!
Peace Out!
